Hello
and welcome to the website for Out The Bag Productions, a non-for-profit,
theatre production company based in Wallasey, Merseyside.
The
company was founded in November 2005 by local actress and playwright
Paula Rowlands. Since then it has evolved into a strong and active
group with an increasing number of members. We actively encourage
and welcome all members of the community who wish to be involved
in the world of theatre. Our range of interests include acting,
dancing, singing, directing and playwriting.
We
have a great interest in producing new and original material and
so far our work has been described as "giving a new meaning
to amateur theatre" and "pushing the boundaries."

"Aspiring
to inspire within the Community"
|
We
are proud to be affiliate members of the
National Operatic And Dramatic Association (NODA).

|
So
far, Out The Bag Productions has performed three comedy / musical
revue nights and premiered an original major stage production,
taken part in the Liverpool 800th Birthday celebrations and also
produced an award winning one act play at The Leverhulme Festival
in April 2008.
We
have also set up an actors workshop for our current members which
have proved highly popular and we have also created a monthly
competition called Actor Factor.
As
part of our programme for 2008 we are running a series of acting
workshops which are open to all members of the community. These
workshops include a variety of acting studies including comedy,
drama, murder-mystery, horror, and improvisation.
The
number of places for the workshops are limited and a small fee
of £2.00 is payable for each session.
You
don't need to have any acting experience or be involved with theatre
at all. Come along and have fun while learning something new!!!!
Please
do get in touch if you are interested in joining our workshops
or if you need some more information. Unfortunately, we can only
accept members aged 17+ at the moment.
One
Life Social Awareness Project
On
7th April 2008 we were awarded £15,000 by the Community
Foundation For Merseyside and Awards For All.
This was awarded to help with our One Life Social Awareness Project
- a project focusing on some of the more gritty realities of life
- prostitution, drug & alcohol abuse, identity fraud, domestic
assault / abuse and murder.
As
a way of saying thanks for this funding, we held a special cheque
presentation night on which a number of VIP's attended. In true
Out The Bag style, many of our members dressed in various costumes
and gave speeches about their time with Out The Bag and what it
meant to them.
Special
displays showing photos and posters of previous (and forthcoming)
productions were available for our visitors to see as well as
a special DVD highlighting our work.
A
great evening to celebrate the achievements we have made in our
short history!
Here's
a few pics of our One Life Social Awareness Project
launch night - 7th April 2008:
We
plan to continue with many varied projects in the future, including
producing major stage plays, writing & directing a film project
for a local Film Festival and also working on a new Internet TV
show...watch this space!!!!
Some
of our material is strictly for adults only and some visitors
to this site or audiences may find it offensive.
Finally,
we'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our
family, friends, audiences and sponsors who have supported us
so far. We really do appreciate all that you've done for us.
